Nerdor royal family drama, plus the world's most unhinged cosmic incel trying to ruin paradise. You are not ready for this one. This section is basically "Finn and the Three Rock Problem" – where Finn invents the ultimate drip, everyone loses their minds, and Melvin speedruns turning Valinor into a paranoid mess of whisper campaigns and swords. Let's start at the top. After everyone finally got to Valinor, Aman was straight-up peak bliss. The Nerdor were out here inventing stuff left and right. Rumi the Scribe of Elftown drops the first writing system like it's a new TikTok filter, and suddenly elves are texting each other instead of just staring at the Trees. Meanwhile, King Finn Senior's wife Miri Tapped-Out is pregnant with their firstborn, but she pours literally all her spirit into this kid. Big mistake. She's so drained she basically hits the "log off" button, her spirit bounces to Mandy Moodkiller, and Finn Senior is left as the first elf to actually experience grief in paradise. He doesn't remarry right away – instead he hyper-focuses on little Finn, who grows up like a prodigy on steroids. Finn was definitely that kid who finished the group project alone and still got all the credit, facts.
Finn (still going by his birth name Curufinwë at this point, but we're keeping it real) is out here crafting the first gemstones, tweaking Rumi the Scribe's alphabet into something even better, and learning metalwork and stonework from his father-in-law Mahtan after he marries Nerdy Nell. Nerdy Nell is the only one who can check his fiery temper... for a while. They have seven sons, because why not go full basketball team. But then Finn Senior decides to remarry Indie Stepmom of the Vanilla Elves. They have Fightin' Finley and Finny Sensible. Finn is NOT happy about this blended family situation – like, bro, he straight-up side-eyed every family dinner from then on. He moves out, buries himself in the workshop, and the seeds of that classic "my dad replaced me" trauma start sprouting.
Meanwhile, Melvin's three ages of prison time are finally up. The Valor Squad drag him in front of the throne, and this dude puts on his best "I've changed, bro" face. He swears he'll help fix all the damage he caused in the early days. Manny Breezy, who is basically the overly trusting guidance counselor of the gods, buys it completely and pardons him. Melvin starts giving advice to everyone, wandering Aman like he owns the place. Valerie Starqueen, Swole Tully, and a few others side-eye him hard – they see the evil lurking – but they don't push back against Manny Breezy's decision. Classic "I don't want to cause drama" energy that ends up causing all the drama.
The Nerdor eat up the new skills and knowledge Melvin drops. He's teaching them forbidden lore and whispering poison the whole time: the Valor Squad kidnapped the Elves to Aman out of jealousy, so they wouldn't outshine the gods. Oh, and by the way, there are these weaker mortal humans out there in Middle-earth that the Valor Squad apparently want to hand the world over to. The Nerdor start side-eyeing the Valor Squad. Finn, though? He always hated Melvin's guts on sight. Melvin later tries to take credit for Finn's genius – total cap. Finn did that all himself, locked in his lab like a mad scientist.
Here's where it gets worse. Finn hits his final form as a craftsman and creates the Shiny Rocks – three glowing jewels that capture the pure, unfiltered light of the Two Trees. Valerie Starqueen hallows them so no evil or unclean hands can touch them without getting burned. Everyone in Aman is obsessed; Finn flexes them at every festival like limited-edition Supreme drops. Melvin sees them and his greed levels go nuclear. He ramps up the rumor mill: elves should have their own kingdoms, the Valor Squad are holding you back, etc. The whispers spread like wildfire in a school cafeteria.
- Fightin' FinleyYo, did you hear the Valor Squad only brought us here cuz they scared we'd cook harder than them in Middle-earth?
- Finny SensibleFr? And they're lowkey saving the world for those mortal humans who die in like 60 years??
- FinnThis is why we need our own realm. Fightin' Finley's probably plotting to steal my birthright rn.
- Fightin' FinleyBro I heard the opposite, Finn's gonna kick us all out of Elftown any day now. Dad, you seeing this?
The lies hit everyone differently. Finn starts hoarding the Shiny Rocks like they're his precious (and yes, that's exactly the vibe). The family beef between him and Indie Stepmom's kids explodes. Melvin fans the flames: to Finn he says Fightin' Finley is trying to usurp him as eldest; to Fightin' Finley and Finny Sensible he says Finn is planning to exile them. Soon the Nerdor are forging weapons in secret and muttering about rebellion. Finn is the loudest about it, pacing around like a Twitter main character having a meltdown. Dude probably refreshed his mentions every five seconds.
Fightin' Finley goes to Finn Senior for a family meeting about his unhinged brother. Finn shows up, pulls a sword on him right on the palace stairs, and threatens to run him through. The Valor Squad step in – Finn gets banished from Elftown for twelve years. They also finally clock that Melvin is the source of all the rumors, but by then he's already ghosted. A weird shadow settles over the land, and everyone feels it: he's still lurking in Aman somewhere. Like that feeling when you know your group project partner is about to ghost but you can't prove it yet.
Finn heads off to Vault North with his seven sons and Finn Senior, who chooses to go with him. They take the Shiny Rocks with them, obviously. Fightin' Finley stays behind to rule the Nerdor in his dad's place. Then Melvin shows up at Vault North pretending to be an ally, offering to help Finn set up his own independent kingdom and warning that the Shiny Rocks aren't safe under the Valor Squad. Finn sees right through the cap, calls him a liar, and slams the door in his face. Finn Senior, stressed out of his mind by his son's zero-chill attitude, immediately messages the Valor Squad like "help." Melvin bounces to Middle-earth, the shadow lifts a bit, but the paranoia remains. Everyone in Aman is now low-key terrified of what comes next – except maybe the Trees, they were just vibing.

But we're not done yet. Cut to the festival Manny Breezy throws to try and fix up the Nerdor family feud. Everyone's supposed to show up, eat fruit, vibe under the Trees. Finn is ordered to attend; Finn Senior and the grandsons stay at Vault North guarding the Shiny Rocks. At the event, Finn and Fightin' Finley have this awkward public reconciliation. Fightin' Finley forgives the sword threat and says he'll follow Finn's lead as the eldest. For a second it looks like things might actually chill.
That's exactly when Melvin and his new "friend" Hungy Ungy – this giant void spider who eats light and lives in a dark cleft in the mountains – make their move. Melvin promised her whatever she wants (he was lying, obviously). Cloaked in her webs of unlight, they sneak into Valinor while everyone's distracted by the party. They reach the Two Trees at the exact moment the light is mingling. Melvin stabs them both with his spear, and Hungy Ungy slurps up the sap like it's prime lemonade until the Trees are dead, withered husks. She swells up huge, and even Melvin gets scared of how big and dark she's become. Then they unleash this malicious darkness that blots out everything – sight, sound, will itself. Valinor goes full blackout mode.
Manny Breezy immediately knows it's Melvin's work. Orion Hunt and Swole Tully try to chase them down, but the darkness is so thick and evil they get completely lost. The Trees are gone. The light of Valinor is destroyed. And the Shiny Rocks – those three glowing rocks that hold the last pure light left – suddenly become the most important things in existence. Finn has no idea yet, but his creations are about to drag the whole world into war, exile, and endless tragedy. This is the moment everything breaks. The Three Rock Problem has officially begun.
