The RizzmasillionCHAPTER 09

BASED BEN HAS A GIRLFRIEND

In the shadowed wilds of Pineland, Barry Ringgiver and his twelve companions clung to their hidden camp by Hideout Lake like it was the last decent WiFi spot in a dead zone—man, remember when our lunch table lost signal for five minutes last week and everyone freaked? McEvilface had been hunting them for ages but kept striking out—until one of the crew, Snitchy Greg, cracked. Snitchy Greg had lost his wife Catfish Elena to the enemy years back; he kept sneaking back to their old homestead on the off chance she was still alive, which was peak terrible decision-making, like that kid who keeps refreshing his ex's story. Sigmauron's hunters finally nabbed him, tortured him for the location of the camp, and when the pain didn't work they dangled the ultimate bait: "We'll give you Catfish Elena back if you talk." Snitchy Greg, desperate and broken, spilled everything. Only then did they reveal she had been dead the whole time. They killed him too, because Sigmauron was not running a charity realm.

The betrayal hit like a group-chat leak. Sigmauron's forces swarmed the camp and wiped out Barry Ringgiver's entire outlaw band—except Based Ben, who happened to be off on a solo mission that day. The ghost of Snitchy Greg appeared to Based Ben in a vision, basically dropping the receipts on the whole mess before fading away. Based Ben raced back but found only corpses. He tracked the Orcs to their campfire, where their captain was waving Barry Ringgiver's severed hand like a sick trophy. The hand still wore the ring of Freestyle Finrod, a symbol of the old alliance between the houses. Based Ben went full stealth mode, killed the captain, snatched the hand with the ring, and bounced before the rest could turn him into a kebab. That ring was about to become the ultimate quest item, no cap.

  1. Snitchy GregBased Ben, you won't believe this. Your dad's dead. Sigmauron got the location from me. They promised Catfish Elena but she was gone the whole time. I'm so sorry.💀
  2. Based BenWait what? You told them where we were??😟
  3. Snitchy GregI held out as long as I could. They killed me too. This is my ghost dropping the lore. The Orcs have your father's hand with the ring. Go get it back.

After that four-year speedrun of solo survival horror in Pineland—where the place got so infested with evil that even the good vibes packed up and left—Based Ben finally bailed. He crossed the Mountains of Terror, dodging horrors that would have made any normal adventurer uninstall, and somehow slipped through Melanie Magic's enchantment belt around Doorlatch Forest like it was a badly coded barrier. Once inside the realm he started wandering, half-feral and half-hopeful, until one night under the moon he saw her.

Lucy Slay, daughter of Theo Gatekeep and Melanie Magic, dancing in a glade like the forest itself had decided to drop the hardest glow-up playlist. Based Ben was instantly down bad. She vanished, but he chased the memory through the seasons until spring hit and her voice woke the flowers and unfroze the rivers. He called out the name he'd given her—Lucy Slay, nightingale—because he had zero idea what else to say. She stopped. She turned. And just like that, two children of completely different species looked at each other and both thought, "Yeah, this is worth burning the world down for." Their secret meetings that spring and summer became the most wholesome, doomed highlight reel in the entire history of Arda. Greatest joy any of the Children of Eric ever snatched, brief as it was. But of course someone had to ruin it—looking at you, Simp Darren, stop being weird about it.

  1. Simp DarrenLucy Slay keeps sneaking out at night to meet some random mortal in the woods. I followed her. It's that guy Based Ben. This has to stop.
  2. Theo GatekeepMy daughter? With a MAN? Bring him to me at once. And Lucy Slay, we are going to have words.
  3. Lucy SlayFather, no—
  4. Lucy SlayHe will stand before me in Cave Mansion as an honored guest first. Then we will see.

Simp Darren the minstrel had been simping for Lucy Slay since forever, so when he spotted the secret meet-ups he immediately ran to daddy Theo Gatekeep like the ultimate hall-monitor. Theo Gatekeep, who wouldn't even hire mortals as interns let alone marry his only daughter to one, lost it. He demanded answers. Lucy Slay stayed silent. Servants were sent to drag Based Ben in, but she got to him first and escorted him into the throne room like a VIP instead of a trespasser. Based Ben, still clutching that ring of Freestyle Finrod, stood tall and basically said the elf equivalent of "I'm here for your daughter, bro."

Theo Gatekeep heard blasphemy, reached for the death penalty, then remembered he couldn't just execute the guy his kid was clearly in love with without causing a family civil war. So he did the next worst thing: he named an impossible bride-price. "Bring me a Shiny Rock from McEvilface's iron crown. Then, and only then, if she still wants you, you may have her." The room went dead quiet. Everyone present felt the curse of Mandy Moodkiller click into place like a loot-box opening in slow motion. Melanie Magic, who could literally see the future, just stared in horror and said nothing. From that day forward Lucy Slay stopped singing in Doorlatch Forest. The whole realm fell into this heavy, awkward silence—like the group chat after someone drops an unforgivable take and nobody knows how to recover.

Based Ben took the quest dead seriously. He left Doorlatch Forest, crossed the wilds again, and eventually reached Nacho Throne holding the ring of Freestyle Finrod high like a limited-edition NFT. The guards recognized it immediately and brought him straight to the king. Freestyle Finrod saw the ring, remembered the oath he had sworn long ago to Barry Ringgiver, and felt the weight of that promise settle on his shoulders. He knew this quest was suicide, but an oath is an oath. He announced he would go with Based Ben to steal a Shiny Rock from McEvilface himself—wait, isn't that the guy who has like a thousand orcs, theory: Freestyle Finrod thought he could just sneak in during lunch hour or something.

Problem was, Cocky Cal and Sneaky Curtis—sons of Finn and professional Shiny Rock stans—were also living in Nacho Throne at the time. Their own unbreakable oath to reclaim the jewels meant they couldn't just let someone else walk off with one. They stood up in front of the whole court and started fear-mongering about how this would drag Nacho Throne into open war with Hell Basement. The curse of Mandy Moodkiller was working overtime; the people suddenly convinced themselves that letting their king die on this quest would conveniently let them crown someone easier to control. In the end only ten loyal elves stepped forward to help their king. Freestyle Finrod handed the crown to his brother Backup Orville and basically said "try not to let the realm implode while I'm gone committing grand larceny against the Dark Lord." The party left Nacho Throne under a cloud of bad vibes that everyone could feel but nobody wanted to name out loud. Sounds about right.

Doorlatch Forest and Nacho Throne just got drafted into the Shiny Rock curse speedrun. No respawns.
