Middle-school brainrot squad, we are about to watch the most dramatic HOA meeting in all of Bellyland get catastrophically leaked. This is the chapter where the hidden elf city of Secret Elf HOA—think ultra-exclusive gated community with eagle security cams and zero tolerance for outsiders—finally gets exposed. The whole thing kicks off with our boy Toby Tourguide, who is basically the ultimate chosen-one foster kid. Son of Huey Chair (who got wrecked in the Battle of Unnumbered Tears), raised by Gray Elves, captured as a teen slave by Orcs and Sellout Squad for three brutal years. He escapes, goes full vigilante on the Sellout Squad, and suddenly gets that divine "you've been selected" DM from the god Uncle Ocean himself.
Toby Tourguide bails from home, follows seven swans like it's a cursed TikTok trend—reminds me of that random bird video that went viral last week—and ends up in the abandoned crib Old Beach House. There he finds armor and a sword left behind on Uncle Ocean's orders. Then this absolute legend Vern the Sailor shows up—the only survivor of Gordon HOA's suicide-squad sea mission to Valinor. Uncle Ocean had personally yeeted him ashore. Vern the Sailor hears the whole saga and agrees to guide Toby Tourguide to the secret city. On the way they spot this tall mysterious dude in all black with a goth sword—Tragic Tim—just wandering around being tragic. Classic "main character energy from another realm" moment.
They finally reach the gates of Secret Elf HOA and get immediately clapped in elf-cuffs. But when Toby Tourguide pulls out the drip from Old Beach House, the guards realize this is the guy Uncle Ocean warned them about. They haul him straight to Gordon HOA, High King of the Nerdor and ultimate paranoid HOA president. Toby Tourguide drops the message from the sea god: "Yo, all your Nerdor works are about to get ratio'd. Pack up the city, head to the coast, save your people before McEvilface deletes the whole realm."
Gordon HOA, however, is deep in his "my city is unbreachable" copium. Mopey Mac—the king's sketchy nephew who is low-key (high-key) obsessed with his cousin Ingrid Escape-Plan—immediately starts arguing against Toby Tourguide. His takes are exactly what Gordon HOA wants to hear, so they land harder than they should. Gordon HOA rejects Uncle Ocean's warning, but the whole thing plants a seed of paranoia. He slams the gates shut, bans anyone from leaving for any reason, and now the only news comes from Eagle Boss Tony the eagle lord reporting on how Nacho Throne and Doorlatch Forest got absolutely cooked. Gordon HOA just puts on noise-canceling headphones and ignores it all. Classic "this is fine" energy while the timeline burns.
Toby Tourguide stays in the city, and here's where the family-group-chat-level drama really starts. He and Ingrid Escape-Plan (Gordon HOA's only daughter and heir) catch serious feelings—idk why it always takes seven years in these stories but okay. After seven years Gordon HOA actually approves the marriage. Mopey Mac is seething—because he wanted Ingrid Escape-Plan for himself, both for the throne and... other reasons that make this whole bloodline situation extra cursed, and I'm side-eyeing that whole thing forever. The next spring they have a son, Spaceboat Eddie, who is basically perfect: Varsity Elves wisdom plus human strength plus the sea literally whispering to him. For a hot minute Secret Elf HOA is living its best life, throwing festivals and pretending the outside world isn't on fire.
But Hugh Chair (Toby Tourguide's uncle) had accidentally leaked the approximate location in a moment of grief, screaming at the mountains—classic "venting in the wrong place" energy that somehow always bites you. McEvilface starts laser-focusing on that range. Ingrid Escape-Plan gets major "something bad is coming" vibes and, in total secret, starts engineering an escape route. Nobody knows about it. Meanwhile Mopey Mac, being a certified idiot, defies the lockdown, sneaks outside the protected zone, and gets himself captured by Orcs. Under threat of torture he folds instantly and sells out the entire city's location to McEvilface. In exchange McEvilface promises him the throne and Ingrid Escape-Plan. Mopey Mac agrees, gets sent back as a sleeper agent, and Ingrid Escape-Plan's dread level goes from "mildly concerned" to "full apocalypse prep." This is fine, everything is fine.
- Eagle Boss Tonybro the eagles just dropped another report. Nacho Throne is GONE. Doorlatch Forest is GONE. we are next if we don't move
- Gordon HOAthe city has stood for centuries. our walls are perfect. uncle ocean is overreacting
- Mopey Macexactly. this random human shows up in our sacred armor and suddenly we abandon everything our people built? pathetic
- Ingrid Escape-PlanMopey Mac your takes are always so convenient for you. Toby Tourguide literally brought the message from the literal god of the ocean
- Mopey Macstay out of this cousin. this is king business
- Gordon HOAthe gates stay shut. no one leaves. ever. i will not risk exposure
Seven years after Spaceboat Eddie is born, the festival of the rising sun turns into the worst group project failure in history. McEvilface's forces hit at dawn—Fire Bouncers, Orcs, wolves, dragons, the whole villain meta. The city gets absolutely steamrolled despite heroic last stands. Gordon HOA's tower collapses on him. In the chaos Mopey Mac tries to kidnap Ingrid Escape-Plan and Spaceboat Eddie. Toby Tourguide shows up, they throw hands, and Toby Tourguide yeets Mopey Mac off the walls straight into the flames below. Brutal, but earned—like that one kid who finally snapped in dodgeball.
Ingrid Escape-Plan's secret tunnel saves the day. Toby Tourguide leads the survivors through it while the city burns. They climb terrifying mountain passes and get jumped by more Orcs plus a Fire Bouncer. Goldie Glow-Up steps up, fights the Fire Bouncer, and both of them plunge into the abyss—man that fall must've been awkward. The Eagles eventually clear the rest of the Orcs; Eagle Boss Tony carries Goldie Glow-Up's body back and they bury him under a mound that grows golden flowers forever. The refugees make it to the Riverside, link up with survivors from Doorlatch Forest (including little Ellie Birdwife), and Gilbert Glowstick gets named the new High King of the Nerdor. McEvilface thinks he's won and that the remaining Elves are no threat. Uncle Ocean begs the Valor Squad for backup, but only someone who could speak for both Elves and Men would be able to sway Manny Breezy, and the time just isn't right yet. Plot armor for later I guess.

Toby Tourguide eventually feels the sea-longing hit him hard in his old age. He builds a massive ship, sails west with Ingrid Escape-Plan, and they vanish from all records. The stories say his fate got uncoupled from regular mortal Men and he was allowed to join the Elves he loved so much. The bloodline of Toby Tourguide and Ingrid Escape-Plan—through Spaceboat Eddie and eventually Ellie Birdwife—will end up mattering more than anyone in that burning city could have imagined. But that's a story for later chapters.
For now the secret elf HOA is public knowledge, the city is a smoking crater, and the survivors are left carrying the trauma, the hope, and one extremely important half-elven baby who is about to become the most important plot device in the entire legendarium. The leak was catastrophic. The consequences? Legendary.
